“Unnie, what are the essential things in a date?”
Jea looked up from her textbook. “What do you mean?”
“Like, what are the most important things in a date… If the guy gives you flowers, chocolate,” Seo In Young counted her fingers as she made a list. “Dinner, stuff like that.”
“Hmm…” Jea rested her chin in her palm and pondered for a while. “Well for me none of that really matters… as long as there’s a kiss somewhere,” she smiled cheekily. Then she felt a hand on her shoulder.
“Joong Hoon-oppa!” She beamed at the older boy. Standing up, she waved goodbye to In Young. “In Young-ah, I’m going to go now… I’ll see you tomorrow in class!”
In Young smiled bitterly as the two figures vanished from the library, Jea linking arms with Joong Hoon.
How she itched for her to leave him. Her Joong Hoon. Reaching her hand inside her purse, she dug for her cell phone and dialed Lee Joon’s number.
Joon walked out of the bathroom with nothing but a towel around his waist. As he was about to walk put some clothes on, he heard his phone ring.
“Aish… It’s some girl, what the heck,” he rolled his eyes. “Yeoboseyo?”
“OPPA!!!” Joon cringed at the high pitched shriek emitting from his cell phone. It sounded like that dumb girl In Young. Or whatever her name was. As he stood there listening to her sobs, he wondered if there was going to be a rerun of that one SpongeBob episode when Spongebob gains control of a magical pencil.
Finally the sobbing stopped. Hesitantly he asked, “Um… is this In Young?”
The girl from the other end barely mumbled a yes before bursting into hysterics again. After what seemed like hours of talking to a drunken Patrick Star, Joon more or less understood what she was trying to say.
“So… you want me to go hit on some other girl so you can steal her boyfriend?”
“Yup,” the voice suddenly became calm and composed.
“And why do you think I would agree to this?”
There was silence and Joon wondered if she hung up. Then suddenly he heard the voice again. “Because I know a secret you don’t want anyone else to know.”
